Forgot to take the photo's of our new bags, and will do so soon. Meanwhile the new shipment of the wonderful Laguiole cutlery from France just arrived. Great for presents.
For anyone who is interested, there is a few companies in this region of France. This company is one of the oldest and still hand finish all their products. Once you use them you will be hooked. The feel and weight of them screams quality.
So nice to have original products and not the nasty copies available at the pretend "French made in Asia" local shops.

I have just got back from a buying trip in NYC and saw the wonderful S/S12 collection from Lilith.
There are some fabulous designs for next year.
While I was away our A/W Lilith arrived. This will go out later in the month.
Meanwhile Christmas has a habit of creeping up and I have had many enquiries about Christmas Decorations. They are in boxes at the back of the shop and just waiting to be unpacked and put out. They are gorgeous. Not available elsewhere as I have imported them myself. Keep an eye out here and I will be putting up pictures.

What a surprise it was when I picked up my new Inside Out magazine and saw the article on the talented Carla Coulson. Loved her apartment and was delighted to see she was a fan of the Paris brand Les Touristes, I came across them on my last trip and have had the products for a while waiting for Summer.
Here is my latest window display with their products all available in store and at great prices from $45 for a scarf.
I have also had the fabulous Georgia on my Mind sandals arrive, they are made in Greece from beautiful leather and so comfortable and stylish. Several different styles available.

Just when we thought it was an early Spring the cold weather came back. This week I went to the
Melbourne Gift fair and topped up with a few extra goodies for the coming Christmas shopping period.
Found some French resort wear that were colourful and made from easy to wear cotton, imported by a lovely French girl who followed her heart and shifted to Sydney.
Afterwards we went to Degraves to get a bite to eat and a coffee. Loved the display on the building using paper lanterns, it just looked like bubbles.
Some more of the wonderful cushions made from vintage carpets arrived this week in store. This is one of them made from a vintage Persian carpet.

I have always been a big fan of the beautiful French brand Cote Bastide, sadly there are nasty copies of some of their products on the market, but there is nothing like the real thing.
The quality stands out and the beauty of it just shines.
I am very happy to say that a new shipment straight from France has arrived in Scarlet, including the covetable olive jars and linen teatowels, aprons and bath towels.

Quite a few of my lovely customers have been waiting patiently for my new shipment of French Linen.
It just arrived Friday. It is a beautiful weight and 270cm wide and retails for $88 a metre. It is the same linen that our lounge chairs and couch are covered in.
I have washed up a couple of three metre pieces for anyone who wants a throw. They are available for $270.
We have taken the rest of the delivery to Patchwork on Central Park it consists of beautiful washed French linens in different weights and colours.

I love how my new Poster for Scarlet Jones turned out. It is a custom version of an old Russian Poster.
Emma has been regularly restocking her vintage clothing section , the dress in the window is a vintage one with a Lee Mathews coat over it.

Today was the last day of showing at Mag Square and we were lucky enough to have the multi talented Pia Jane Bijkerk launch her book at the show. She was a delight and an enjoyable day was had by all. It was wonderful to see Pia work her magic transforming her space.
Look forward to meeting her again now she is back in Australia, I am sure we will be much more of her work.

I have always loved Chinese Lanterns and have a collection of vintage ones.
I found this interior in an old Marie Claire Maison magazine and had to show and tell.
We sell these exact Lanterns at Scarlet and had done a similar window display last year. I think it is timeless.
The second photo from an old Elle Decor have a vintage quilt draped over the sofa, I still have a few of these in stock, I bought quite a few on my last trip to France.

My favourite fashion label is Lilith. It is a boutique brand that is wonderful! their designs are particularly good at making you look shapely even if like moi have a very straight figure.
I was very excited last week when the New Season's clothing arrived from France, and have been busy pricing them this week.

Welcome to the very first post for my new Scarlet Jones blog. For those who do not know the shop we are in a little exclusive area known as Auburn Village. This small historic area has quite a few lovely shops and cafe's and is just below Auburn Railway station.
Scarlet Jones is a beautiful store full of covetable items purchased mostly overseas, and the hard to find vintage pieces that only come up occasionally. ( best bought when you first see them as they don't last long) I will be filling this blog with photo's of the latest arrivals.
